Appeal following fire in Dundee
Officers in Dundee are appealing for information following a fire in the city.
Around 9.15pm on Monday, 5 May, 2025 emergency services were called to a disused factory in St Salvador Street. The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Inspector Grant McGaughay said: “The fire is being treated as suspicious and I am appealing for anyone with any information to come forward. There were reports of youths in the area earlier in the evening.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public that properties that have fallen into disrepair, whether large or small, are not safe environments to be in.
“Whether it's youths who wrongly think such buildings serve as a playground or place to explore, or the less well intentioned looking to steal property, the message is the same - keep out.
“They can be very unsafe and pose a genuine danger to anyone who ventures in. We are aware of this issue and will continue to give the area passing attention.”
Anyone with any information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3532 of 5 May, 2025.
