Appeal following a fire at a property in Coltness, Wishaw
Detectives are appealing for information after a fire was set outside a house in Coltness, Wishaw on Sunday, 25 May, 2025.
Around 4.25pm, officers were called to a report of a fire at the property on Hillfoot Crescent.
Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. A vehicle parked outside the house was damaged as a result of the fire.
Detective Constable Josh Ellwood said: “Luckily no one was injured as a result of this wilful fireraising, however the consequences could have been much more serious.
“Enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone in the area of Hillfoot Crescent on Sunday afternoon who witnessed anything suspicious or has information that may assist our enquiries to get in touch.
"We are working the trace the occupants of a black Ford Ranger and a red Mini as both cars were driving nearby around the time the fire started. I’d ask the drivers to contact us as they may have information that could help us.”
