Officers in Moray working with partners in connection with e-scooters
Police in Moray are working with partner agencies following an increase in reports of e-scooters being used in the area.
E-scooters are illegal on public roads, pavements and other public places.
Sergeant Scott Brander said: “Current legislation means e-scooters are an unauthorised vehicle and cannot be insured.
“They can only be used lawfully on private land with permission from the landowner.
"Their illegal use can impact local communities and anyone with concerns should contact us. We continue to work with our partners to address issues relating to e-scooters and educate the public on the potential dangers.
“Anyone purchasing an e-scooter has a responsibility to be aware of the law and the implications of using one in a public place. Enforcement action includes having your e-scooter seized and you may be fined.”
