Appeal for restaurant owners to come forward after cooking oil has been recovered in the North East
Police Scotland is appealing to restaurant owners in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to come forward after a large quantity of cooking oil was recovered.
Around 10.15am on Wednesday, 4 June, 2025, officers stopped a van on the A92 near Newtonhill and recovered the oil.
Two men aged 29 and 19 have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
Constable Daniel Baird of the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to restaurant owners who have had cooking oil stolen overnight between Tuesday, 3 and Wednesday 4, June, to get in touch with us. You can contact us on 101, quoting incident number 1186 of 4 June, 2025.”
