Appeal for information after serious crash in Uig, Isle of Lewis
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Uig, Isle of Lewis.
Around 9.45pm on Thursday, 12 June, 2025, officers were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a quad bike on a single-track road between Berie Farmhouse and the Reef junction.
The rider, a 45-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.
The road was closed for around 20 hours to allow for investigations to take place.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us.
“Similarly, anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV which may have captured what happened should contact us.”
