Appeal following robbery in Hamilton
Officers are appealing for information following a robbery in Hamilton.
Around 4.20pm on Monday, 9 June, a 45-year-old man was approached by two men on the footbridge near to Birdsfield Street. They threatened him with a knife, stealing his wallet and jewellery, before leaving in the direction of Glasgow Road.
The first man was wearing a grey scarf covering his face, dark-coloured jeans and had a black hoodie over his head.
The second man was wearing a dark navy hoodie with the hood up, light-coloured jeans and a green and white scarf.
Detective Constable Alex Murray said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible.
“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or who has any information that could assist our investigation, to please get in touch. We are particularly keen to speak with a man seen wearing a red rucksack who may have witnessed the incident.
