Appeal following fatal crash on the B966 Fettercairn to Edzell road, Aberdeenshire

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the B966 Fettercairn to Edzell road at Cairnton of Balbegno in Aberdeenshire.

The incident happened around 6.10pm on Saturday, 21 June, and involved a blue and white Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced dead. His next of kin are aware.

The road was closed and re-opened around 00.10am on Sunday, 22 June.

Sergeant Dave Cooper said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or have dash-cam footage that could help.”
