Officers continue to appeal following crash near Inverness involving a stolen car
Road policing officers are continuing to appeal for information following a serious crash near Inverness involving a car stolen from the Buckie area.
Around 8.45am on Friday, 18 July, emergency services were called to a two-car crash on the A96 at Newton of Petty.
The driver of a red Vauxhall Corsa, a 50-year-old woman, was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A 74-year-old woman, the passenger of a black Volvo XC60, was also taken by air ambulance to the same hospital.
The driver of the Volvo, a 74-year-old man, was taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital.
A dog travelling in the Corsa died at the scene.
The A96 was closed for crash investigation work to carried out. It re-opened around 6.30pm.
Enquiries so far have established that the Corsa was stolen from the Great Western Road area of Buckie around 7.30am the same morning.
Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “Our enquiries into the crash and the events leading up to it are ongoing and I would like to thank everyone who has come forward and spoken to officers so far.
“In particular we would like to speak to anyone with information relating to the theft of the Corsa and also if you were driving in the area between the time it was stolen and the time of the crash to please check any dash-cam footage.
“If you have captured anything that could assist with our enquiries into the theft and the crash and have not spoken to us already then please get in touch.”
