Man robbed and assaulted on Cardwell Road, Gourock
Detectives in Greenock are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Gourock on Sunday, 27 July, 2025.
Around 12.20pm, officers were called to Cardwell Road to assist the 42-year-old man who had been pushed to the ground, assaulted and robbed of personal effects.
He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment and staff describe his condition as stable.
The man responsible is described as white, around 6ft in height and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark green shorts. He was last seen running in the direction of Steel Street.
Detective Constable Megan Mitchell said: "I would urge anyone who was in the area of Cardwell Road and Steel Street around the time of the incident on Sunday afternoon, who either witnessed this assault or anything suspicious to contact us."
