Man missing from Moffat believed to be in Oban area

We are seeking the public’s assistance in trying to locate a 59-year-old man missing from Moffat.

Raymond Morrisey has been missing since Thursday, 26 June, 2025. He was reported missing to police on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025.

Following extensive enquiries to locate him officers believe he is in the Oban area.

Man within a shop at the till. He is wearing a light blue baseball cap with a red, black and white scarf. He appears to be paying for something. In the background there is a person standing behind him with a black sweatshirt and writing on the front. In front of him are rows of confectionary.

Raymond is around 5 ft. 5 inches tall, with a slim build, grey hair and a grey goatee beard.

The last confirmed sighting of him was within a local convenience store at the corner of Argyll Square and McGregor Court. This was between 5.20pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, 22 July, 2025.

Officers are continuing to review any relevant CCTV for additional information on where Raymond may have gone.

Sergeant Dave Ware said: “We want to ensure Raymond is safe and well. He likes being in the outdoors and going for walks, but it’s out of character for him to be out of touch with people for this length of time and I would ask anyone who may have seen Raymond or has any information as to where he may be to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting 1812 of 15 July, 2025.
