Man convicted for series of thefts and fraud in South Ayrshire
A 64-year-old man has been convicted following a series of thefts and fraud in South Ayrshire.
Robert Markward was found guilty of theft, fraud and an assault at the High Court in Kilmarnock on Tuesday, 1 July, 2025.
The offences were committed between December 2022 and March 2023, in the Ayr and Prestwick areas.
He is due to be sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, 12 August.
Sergeant Shannyn Ross said: "Markward deliberately preyed on vulnerable people in our communities for his own gain. His actions were despicable and caused distress and harm to those he targeted.
"I hope this conviction provides reassurance that we take such offences extremely seriously and will carry out thorough investigations to identify and bring those responsible to justice.
