Appeal after wilful vehicle fire in Paisley

Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Paisley.

Around 1am on Wednesday, 16 July, 2025, a blue Volkswagen Golf car was deliberately set alight on Denewood Avenue.

The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no injuries.

Detective Constable Jack McElwee said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am asking anyone who might have been in the area and saw something to get in touch.

“Similarly, anyone in the area with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that might have captured anything that could be useful in our investigation is urged to contact us.”
