Appeal for information following wilful fire in Tain
Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire at a property on Mansfield Estate in Tain.
Around 2.50am on Sunday, 13 July, 2025, police were made aware of the fire. Emergency services attended, it was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.
Officers are investigating a similar incident within the same housing estate on Thursday, 10 July, and are keeping an open mind on whether these fires may be linked.
Detective Inspector Calum Reid said: “Enquiries are ongoing into both incidents and I’d ask anyone with information to come forward.
“With regards to the fire on Sunday, 13 July, I’m keen to speak to anyone who saw three males in the Mansfield Estate or surrounding areas around the time.
“I’d also ask anyone with dash-cam, doorbell or private CCTV footage to review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
