Appeal for information following fatal crash near Dumfries

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the C11N between Kirkton and Auldgirth, on the outskirts of Dumfries.

The incident happened around 4.35am on Monday, 21 July, 2025, and involved a Lexmoto LXR125 motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and the rider, an 18-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.

The road was closed to allow for investigation and has now reopened.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are asking anyone driving on this road prior to the crash who may have information that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.

“In particular, please check dash-cams and if you have footage that may help then make contact with officers.”
