Appeal following wilful fire-raising in Tain

Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Tain.

Around 4.20am on Thursday, 10 July, 2025, emergency services were called to a report of a fire at the window and door of a property on Mansfield Estate.

The fire was extinguished and there are no reports of any injuries.

Officers are treating the fire as deliberate.

Detective Inspector Calum Reid said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this fire, and I am appealing for anyone who has any information to contact us.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch.”
