Appeal following two vehicle fires in North Lanarkshire

Detectives are appealing for information following two vehicle fires in the North Lanarkshire area.

The first incident took place around 3.30am on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025 on Cumbernauld Road in Mollinsburn and involved a Silver Volvo.

The second happened around 2.50am on Sunday, 20 July, 2025 on Cardowan Drive in Cumbernauld involving a Grey Hyundai.

Both fires were extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no injuries.

Detective Constable Billy Murray said: "Our enquiries so far suggest these two incidents were deliberate and linked, and I'm appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in either area to contact us.

"Similarly, anyone living in these areas with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that may assist our enquiries is urged to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident numbers 0448 of 15 July and 0571 of 20 July.
