Appeal following fatal crash on the A71
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A71.
Around 11.10am on Thursday, 31 July, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a grey Kia Ceed and a white DAF HGV on the A71 westbound between the Corsehillmount Roundabout and Warrix Interchange.
Emergency services attended however the 70-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 4.40pm.
Constable Josh Forrester said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died, and we continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and the events leading up to it.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the Kia Ceed being driven in the area prior to the collision.
“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage or any other information that could assist to contact police.”
