Appeal following fatal crash on A85 near Lochawe

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A85 near Lochawe.

The crash happened around 10.30am on Sunday, 13 July, 2025, and involved a black Skoda Octavia and a grey Aprilia Tuono motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 65-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed to allow for a full collision investigation and re-opened around 9.05pm.

Sergeant Patrick McWilliams said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash, and we would urge anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

“We’re also keen to speak to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the crash and may have dash-cam footage, as it could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 1285 of 13 July, 2025.
