Appeal after fires set in Alexandria on Monday, 14 July and Wednesday, 16 July, 2025
Officers at Dumbarton are appealing for information after two deliberate fires were set in a derelict site on Bridge Street, Alexandria on Monday, 14 July and Wednesday, 16 July, 2025.
Around 10.10pm on Monday, we received a report of a small fire set. The suspects are described as male youths aged around 15 or 16 years. One was wearing a beige jacket and dark-coloured trousers. The other was wearing a light blue jacket, dark-coloured trousers and a balaclava.
Around 7.40pm on Wednesday, we received a report of a fire set at the same area by a male and a female youth both aged around 14 or 15 years. He was wearing a black jacket and she was wearing a white jacket.
Constable Kurtis Simpson said: "Luckily no one was injured as a result of these incidents, however setting fires can have very serious consequences.
"Our enquiries are continuing, and officers are carrying out patrols in the area, as well as speaking to youths regarding this type of antisocial behaviour.
"We would urge anyone in the local area who has any information regarding these two incidents, or has any information regarding anti-social behaviour by youths to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 3831 of 14 July, 2025."
