Appeal following serious assault in Greenock

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Greenock.

The incident happened around 10.30am on Wednesday, 12 February, 2025, on East Shaw Street.

Emergency services attended, and a 49-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Detective Sergeant Alison Eadie said: "Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing, and we urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

"If you have CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage from the area, please review it and share anything of note with officers."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0938 of 12 February. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
