Two men jailed in connection with attempted murder in Glasgow

Two men have been sentenced in connection with the attempted murder of a man in Glasgow.

Liam McDonald, 36, was sentenced to 14 years in prison and Dylan Haldane, 37, was sentenced to 13 years at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, 18 December, 2025. They both were found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, 7 November.

The incident happened around 8.10pm on Sunday, 13 August, 2023, when the 35-year-old victim was found injured outside a premises on Ladymuir Crescent in Pollok.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.

A third man, William Dickson, 39, was previously sentenced to nine years and four months at the High Court in Kilmarnock on Thursday, 12 June, 2024, in connection with the same incident.

Detective Inspector Gordon Walker of Cathcart CID said: "This was a premeditated and violent attack that left the victim with life-changing injuries.

"These men will now have to face the consequences of their abhorrent actions, and I hope that this outcome helps the victim as he continues to move forward.

"Police Scotland is committed to bringing perpetrators of violence to justice and providing victims of such offences all the support they need."
