Man charged in connection with death of 40-year-old in Alloa
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 40-year-old man in Alloa.
Around 12.25am on Thursday, 18 December, 2025, officers were called to a report of concern for an injured man at an address on Gartmorn Road, Sauchie.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and, following a post-mortem examination, his death is now being treated as murder.
He can be named as William Devaney from the local area.

In a statement, his family described William as: "a really nice person, so joyful, full of life and full of banter. Everybody loved him and he loved everybody. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and was loved by all."
A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with his death.
He is due to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, 22 December, 2025.
Detective Inspector Steven McLean, of the Major Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts are with William's family and friends at what is an extremely difficult time. We are offering them support as our investigation progresses.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we have a dedicated team of specialist officers working through all lines of enquiry.
"Anyone who believes they may have information which has not yet been passed to police is asked to get in touch as soon as possible.

Chief Inspector Garry Smith, local area commander for Clackmannanshire, said: "Incidents like this in our community are shocking but rare.
