CCTV appeal for information following a wilful fire in Rutherglen

 

Police have issued pictures of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their ongoing enquiries into a wilful fireraising incident that occurred at around 8.12pm on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, at Rutherglen Shopping Centre, in Stonelaw Lane, Rutherglen.

The man in the pictures is described as white, has receding brown hair, spoke with an English accent, possibly Yorkshire, and was wearing dark blue top and trousers, a yellow hooded top and white trainers. He was carrying at least one rucksack.

Detective Constable Ross Meldrum, Lanarkshire CID, said: "We believe the man pictured may have information that could assist our investigation and would encourage him, anyone who may recognise him or anyone with any information to come forward."
