Appeal for information following two-vehicle crash on A9
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious two-vehicle collision on the A9.
It happened half a mile south of the Ralia junction around 6pm on Tuesday, 2 December, 2025 and involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a silver Kia Sportage.
The passenger of the Kia, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance, where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Kia, a 34-year-old man was taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 26-year-old man, was taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital and has since been discharged.
The road was closed for around eight hours while crash investigation took place.
Sergeant Scott MacDonald said: “Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I’m appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“Did you see what happened or see either vehicle before the crash? Do you have dash-cam footage of the area around the time which may have captured something of significance? We are also keen to speak with the driver of a BMW car who we believe has witnessed the collision.
