Appeal following serious crash on A96 near Tornagrain
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the A96 near Tornagrain.
The incident happened around 9.30pm on Friday, 5 December, 2025, when part of a load from a red DAF HGV struck a bus. The HGV did not stop at the scene, however the vehicle was traced a short time later.
The 56-year-old female driver of the bus was taken to hospital with serious injuries. No-one else was injured.
The road was closed for around five and a half hours to allow an investigation to take place and was re-opened around 2am on Saturday, 6 December.
Sergeant Doug Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the HGV and establish the full circumstances of the crash.
“We are appealing for any motorists who were in the area around the time of the crash and may have witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“I’d also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.”
