Appeal following serious crash in Ardrossan

We are appealing for information following a serious crash on South Beach Road in Ardrossan.

Around 3.20pm on Thursday, 11 December, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a MG HS Excite car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 96-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 74-year-old man, was issued with a fixed penalty notice for a road traffic offence.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “We are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I am asking anyone who was in that area at the time who witnessed something to get in touch.

“Similarly, any drivers in the area with dash-cam footage that may have captured the incident should contact us.”
