Appeal following crash on the A7 near Stow

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a one-vehicle crash near Stow.

Around 10.35am on Thursday, 4 December, 2025, a blue Toyota Rav4 crashed into a telecommunications pole and subsequently came to a stop in a field on the A7, just south of the junction for Fountainhill.

Emergency services attended, and the driver, a 66-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the crash, or who saw the vehicle prior, to contact local officers.

“I’d also ask those with dash-cams to review the footage to see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0936 of 4 December, 2025.
