Wilful fireraising on Spruce Road, Abronhill, Cumbernauld
Detectives are appealing for information after a car was set on fire outside an address in Abronhill, Cumbernauld on Saturday, 2 August, 2025.
Around 2.30am, officers were called to a report of a Nissan X-trail on fire outside a house on Spruce Road. The fire caused significant damage to the vehicle.
Detective Constable David Williamson said: “Luckily no-one was injured, however, the consequences of this dangerous and reckless act could have been much more serious.
“Our enquiries are at an early stage, and I urge anyone who was in the Spruce Road area around 2.30am on Saturday, who witnessed anything suspicious to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone driving in the area with dash-cam or anyone nearby with personal footage to please check their recordings and get in touch if it holds anything relevant.
