Police Unity Tour 2025 raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for Care of Police Survivors
Serving and retired members of Police Scotland have helped raise almost a quarter of a million pounds in memory of fallen colleagues.
The annual Police Unity Tour cycling event took place between Thursday, 31 July, and Sunday, 3 August, with participants from forces across the UK embarking on the 200-mile ride to raise money for the Care of Police Survivors charity.
Cyclists started the epic journey in Gretna and travelled to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. All forces involved undertook the last leg of the journey together.
So far, £240,000 has been raised for COPS, which provides support to the families of officers and staff who died on duty.
Chief Constable Jo Farrell visited Gretna to wish Police Scotland’s cyclists a safe journey and to praise them for their continued support of those who are no longer with us.
Chief Constable Farrell said: “The Police Unity Tour is an important demonstration of our ongoing support for the families and loved ones of officers and staff who have died on duty.
“I want to congratulate everyone who took part in this year’s tour and pay tribute to the work of the Care of Police Survivors charity and Christine.”
Christine Fulton, co-Founder of Care of Police Survivors added: “The funds raised by the Police Unity Tour is the life blood of COPS and allows to continue to support the families of officers nationwide who have died on duty.
“I am immensely proud of the Scottish riders as they cover more miles than most of the other chapters and have three family members who ride with them.
“To have the support of Chief Constable Farrell is a mark of respect not only to the officers who have died but to the commitment of all of the riders and their support team.”
