Man who died in a crash on the A71 near Irvine named
A man who died in a crash on the A71 westbound between the Corsehillmount Roundabout and Warrix Interchange, near Irvine, has been named.
He was Abraham Torrance, aged 70, from the Kilmarnock area. His family has asked for privacy.
The incident happened around 11.10am on Thursday, 31 July, and involved a grey Kia Ceed and a white DAF HGV.
Emergency services attended and Mr Torrance, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
Constable Josh Forrester said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Torrance and enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and the events leading up to it continue.
“We are asking anyone who can assist with information, including dash-cam footage, to get in touch if they have not already spoken to officers.”
