Man arrested and charged following drugs recovery in Alexandria

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery of drugs in Alexandria.

Around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 19 August, 2025, officers attended a property on Baird Crescent.

A cannabis cultivation of around 170 plants with an estimated street value of between £42,500 and £102,000 was discovered within.

The man is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 20 August, 2025.

Sergeant Robert MacLean said: “This recovery highlights our commitment to disrupting drug-related crime in our communities. It also reinforces our ongoing commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital to our efforts, and I would encourage anyone concerned about drugs-related activity to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
