Five arrests made across Lanarkshire in day of action against domestic abuse
Five people have been arrested in the Hamilton, Larkhall and Lanark areas as part of a day of action targeting domestic abuse.
On Tuesday, 5 August, 2025, officers visited various addresses and arrested individuals in connection with multiple offences including assault, breach of bail and outstanding warrants.
Two men, aged 34 and 43, have been charged and appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 6 August.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and released pending further enquiries.
A man aged 54, and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on outstanding warrants.
Sergeant Stewart McDonald said: "We work closely with a range of partners to ensure victims are treated sensitively, while also ensuring we maximise every opportunity to bring offenders to justice.
"We know that reporting domestic abuse is a big step for anyone to take but I want to assure people that our officers are here to help anyone who is in need and are specially trained to deal with these reports thoroughly and sensitively.
“We continue to encourage victims of domestic abuse to come forward and not suffer in silence.
