Appealing after car was deliberately set on fire in Irvine
Officers are appealing for information after a white Hyundai ixc5 car was set on fire in the Dick Crescent area of Irvine.
The incident happened around 2.55am on Tuesday, 26 August. The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.
The fire is being treated as wilful and officers are keen to speak a man seen in the area at the time.
He was wearing dark trousers, light coloured footwear, a light coloured top and carrying an object. He left Dick Crescent in the direction of Castlepark Circle.
Detective Sergeant Daniel Small said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking for the help of the public.
“Please check any private CCTV to see if you have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.
“If you were driving in the area around the time of the incident please also check dash-cam for something that could help officers.”
