Appeal following serious crash in Strathaven
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Strathaven.
Around 7.15pm on Monday, 18 August, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a black Volkswagen Scirocco and a male runner on the B7086 at the junction with Roman Road, Sandford, Strathaven.
Emergency services attended and the 40-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
The driver of the car was not injured.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 2am on Tuesday, 19 August, 2025.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who haven’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
