Appeal after report of woman assaulted in Dalbeattie woods

Officers are appealing for information following a report of a woman assaulted in Dalbeattie woods on Wednesday, 6 August, 2025.

Around 11.35am, the 51-year-old woman was walking a dog, when a man ran towards her and pushed her to the ground. She did not require medical treatment and the man continued running.

He was wearing black clothing which included a hooded top and a snood.

Inspector Lyndsey Nicolson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace the man involved.

“If you were in the area of Dalbeattie woods on Wednesday morning, or have any information that may assist us, please contact 101 quoting incident number 1192 of 6 August.”
