Woman named following fatal crash on A98 near Craigmaud
Road Policing officers are continuing to appeal for information following a fatal crash that occurred on the A98 near Craigmaud, Aberdeenshire.
The incident took place around 5pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2025 and involved an Audi Q5 car and a Ford Transit van.
A 61-year-old woman, the driver of the Audi, was pronounced dead at the scene. She can now be named as Maureen Davidson from Mintlaw.
Her family have asked for privacy.
The three male occupants of the van were all taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The road was closed for approximately ten hours to allow investigations and reopened at around 1am on Wednesday, 2 April, 2025.
Sergeant Dave Cooper said: “Our thoughts are with Maureen’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
"Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was travelling on the A98 around the time of the crash, especially if they have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation.”
