Appeal for information following wilful car fire in Langbank

Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire in Langbank.

Around 2.20am on Friday, 18 April, 2025 a BMW M6 car was deliberately set alight within the driveway of a property in Houston Road.

Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.

The incident is being treated as wilful and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Gillian Berry said: "The fire was set alight while the car was parked in a driveway where other cars were also parked and caused considerable alarm to the residents. I would urge anyone with information about what happened to speak to officers.

"If you were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious or have CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured something of significance then please contact us."
