Appeal following fatal crash in Inverness
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on Island Bank Road in Inverness.
The crash, involving a cyclist taking part in an organised event and a BMW 120 M Sport, occurred next to the event area around 12.10pm on Sunday, 27 April, 2025.
Emergency services attended and the 49-year-old male cyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital, where he died a short time later.
The male driver and the female passenger of the car were not injured.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to take place and reopened around 6pm.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
Sergeant Lewis Macleod of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us.”
