Two men arrested after officer seriously injured in collision in Hamilton

Two men have been arrested and charged after an on-duty officer was seriously injured in an incident involving a car in Hamilton.

Officers approached the vehicle on Low Waters Road around 1pm on Friday, 30 August in the course of a general patrol.

The vehicle then made off and was involved in a collision with one of the officers, a 33-year-old man.

Two men, aged, 30 and 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 4 September, 2024.

The injured officer remains in hospital for treatment.
