Appeal after fatal crash involving cyclist in Bearsden
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in the Bearsden area of Glasgow.
The crash, involving a cyclist and a HGV occurred on Manse Road, just after the junction with Drymen Road, around 8.10am on Tuesday, 19 March, 2024.
Emergency services attended and the 56-year-old female cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the HGV was not injured.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to take place and reopened around 1.30pm.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and officers are appealing for information.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.
“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash and witnessed what took place, or has any dashcam footage which could assist, to please get in touch with officers.”
