16-year-old male arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault at a playground in Innerleithen

A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault at playground in Innerleithen.

He will be reported to Procurator Fiscal.

The incident happened around 7pm on Saturday, 8 June, at a playground at the end of Hall Street in the town.

A 72-year-old man was assaulted and treated in hospital for serious facial injuries.
