Man arrested and charged following multiple shoplifting offences in Dundee

A 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with 14 shoplifting offences in the Westend area of Dundee.

This followed a local initiative in the area to target shoplifters where officers from the community policing team worked with affected stores and carried out patrols.

As a result the man appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, 18 January, and was sentenced to 80 days in prison.

Sergeant Stuart Paton said: “We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and anyone with information or concerns about theft from shops and stores should call us via 101.”
