Large recovery of cannabis on Carnock Street, Greenock

Around 4.40pm on Thursday, 4 January, 2024, officers searched two cars on Carnock Street, Greenock and recovered a quantity of drugs, believed to be cannabis, with an estimated street value of one hundred and ten thousand pounds (£110,000).

Two men aged 44 and 35 years, and a 15-year-old boy, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. They were released on an undertaking to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Chief Inspector Steven Elliott said: “A significant amount of cannabis has been seized and removed from circulation. Such recoveries have a substantial impact on those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and those who gain financially from this type of criminality.
