We're asking the public, and in particular shop owners, to be vigilant regarding the existence of counterfeit bank notes.

Over the last week, we have received several reports of fake £50 being used in large and small retailers and instances of online purchases where fake £50 notes were used to make purchases in shops across West Fife.

The areas involved include Dunfermline, Lochgelly and Dalgety Bay.
