Update following dog attack in Kelloholm

We received a report of a large bulldog type dog having attacked a woman in the McConnel Street area of Kelloholm around 6.25pm on Saturday, 27 April, 2024.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment for serious injuries.

The dog has been destroyed.

Officers would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding as enquiries were carried out in the area.
