Operation Jetty - pair charged following 49 break-ins and thefts

A man, aged 22, and a 16-year-old male youth have been arrested and charged in connection with a series of break-ins, attempted break-ins and thefts across the Lothians, North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Fife and Forth Valley.

The 49 incidents took place between Thursday, 28 September, 2023, and Tuesday, 28 November, 2023

The 22-year-old man is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 29 November, 2023.

The 16-year-old male youth is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court of Thursday, 30 November, 2023.

Detective Inspector John Murphy, Livingston CID, said: “We understand the impact this type of crime has on the community and we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to find those responsible.”
