Appeal for information following crash in Glasgow

Police are appealing for information following a serious crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Glasgow.

The incident happened around 12.20am on Monday, 1 May, 2023, on Balshagray Avenue, near its junction with Crow Road.

A 37-year-old man was crossing the road when he was struck by a grey Volkswagen Tiguan.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, where he remains in a serious condition.

The road was closed for around five hours and reopened around 5.20am on Monday, 1 May, 2023.

Constable Simon Parker said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist us, to make contact.

“I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 0093 of 1 May, 2023.”
