Appeal following serious crash near Abbey St Bathans

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash near Abbey St Bathans.

The incident happened around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 1 March, close to Edin Hall Broch car park, on an unclassified road which links the A6112 with Abbey St Bathans.

It involved a Yamaha Grizzly 550 quad bike.

A 34-year-old man, a passenger on the quad bike, sustained serious injuries and was taken by air/ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

The driver of the quad bike was not injured.

Sergeant Dave Waddell said: “Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time that may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

“If you have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation or saw what happened then please get in touch via 101, quoting incident number 1946 of Wednesday, 1 March, 2023.”
