Man arrested and charged following drugs recovery near Lockerbie

Road Policing officers in Dumfries and Galloway have recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £141,000 during a routine vehicle stop.

Around 8.50pm on Wednesday, 14 June, 2023, officers stopped a Toyota Avensis on the B7076 near Lockerbie.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Thursday, 15 June, 2023.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven said: “This work has resulted in a significant amount of drugs being seized which will no longer end up on our streets.

“Tackling drug crime remains a priority and anyone who has concerns regarding drug misuse in their area should report this to police via 101.”
