Update – man arrested following incident in Shettleston, Glasgow

Officers are continuing their investigation following the discovery of potentially hazardous chemicals within a property in Shettleston, Glasgow.

Police and emergency partners attended at a flat in Altyre Street, shortly after 5pm on Monday, 7 August, 2023.

A 34-year-old man has today (Wednesday, 9 August) been arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged in connection with domestic offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow (Thursday, 10 August).

Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and there will be a continued police presence in the area. We continue to work closely with our partners.

“I would like to thank local residents for their patience and co-operation while we continue to deal with this incident.”
